Drencher System

Drencher systems are installed in exterior spaces like between your building and your neighbour’s or adjoining walkways and corridors, for example. When these areas are exposed to a high (pre-set) temperature, a row of overhead drencher sprinklers that are attached to the main hydrant system will automatically release water.

Unlike traditional sprinklers which protect interior spaces, drencher systems are specifically designed to protect window openings, roofs and any other exterior openings of a building. They are usually installed horizontally at the level of the top of a window or set of windows, and they are comprised of many moving parts including a pump unit, control fittings, an alarm device, distribution piping and a water head.

This is an effective way to stop fire damage to your building from neighbouring properties and is often required to keep your building up to code.

A drencher system is a water-based fire protection system that uses a cascading water curtain to block fire, smoke, and radiant heat. It's also known as a wall wetting sprinkler system.

How it works

• Drencher systems are typically installed horizontally at the top of windows and other exterior openings
• They can be activated manually or automatically in response to external fire threats
• They are often used in industrial and commercial areas where the risk of explosion is high

Benefits

• Drencher systems are effective at stopping fire damage from neighboring properties

Types

• There are two types of drencher systems: sealed wall wetting sprinkler systems and open wall wetting sprinkler systems
